Fundraising - for you, with you by you!

Private Sponsorship Appeal

Drum Adventure is a self determined charity that aims to provide services on a ‘less than cost’ basis. In this 3way nobody will be excluded or miss out on the benefits outdoor education has to offer. To do this we work hard to raise funds and subsidise courses. We also try to cover costs such as equipment renewals.

However, we badly need donations from private sponsors and corporate organisations. Unless otherwise directed any donated funds are placed in our sponsorship fund which is used to subsidise the poorest or most needy groups.

If you feel you can help us with either a private or corporate donation, please phone me on 0141 944 5555 or e-mail me at archie@drumadventure.com. Your support will go a long way to changing many people’s lives for the better.

Archie Waters, Project Leader.

Match Funding Support for Your Group

We will support any application your group makes for funding, which includes outdoor activities supplied by us. Including a match funding commitment in any application greatly increases its potential for success and Drum Adventure is happy to provide this through the sponsored element of its pricing structure.

We are also happy to form partnerships with any bona-fide community group or agency in order to make stronger applications. Whether the activities constitute the whole purpose of your grant application, or simply form part of a wider intervention, we can provide that additional support which may prove fundamental to success.

Fundraising Activities

One of the most efficient ways of raising funds is through challenge events which attract sponsorship. And we can run events which have twice the benefit.

As well as raising much needed funds for your organisation, your group members will have enjoyed the activity itself and gained considerable knowledge of organisational and teamwork skills.

The funds raised can be used to provide for a follow up activity programme, or to attract other match funding support.

Fundraising Activities Continued

Challenges are individually designed to fit with your client’s abilities. But take for example, a ‘U’ drive powerboat down the Clyde to Arran where the team will scale the heights of Goat Fell and return within the day; or a sponsored abseil where team members will operate in relay in controlled conditions in order to complete the equivalent of a one thousand foot abseil within a set time.

Any of our activities can be designed to suit ‘challenge’ purposes, so contact us now to set up you very own challenge fundraiser.

‘Cold Water Sandwich’ – 2006

This year I have agreed to run the Cold Water Sandwich again in support of Drumchapel’s Adult ‘A’ Team. The Adult ‘A’ Team is a group of self determined people from the Drumchapel area who have learning difficulties. The ‘A’ Team celebrate their 10th Anniversary in 2006 and would like to mark this achievement by trying a variety of outdoor activities during that year.

The Cold Water Sandwich consists of a split 10k hill run on New Year’s Day, incorporating a thousand foot climb and a twenty metre swim in the freezing waters of the Gareloch mid way.
No wet suit or dry suit – swimmies only……Brrrrrrr!!

If you would like to make a donation and feel satisfyingly justified about staying in your bed on New Year’s morn, whilst I engage in the madness of running up and down hills and plunging myself near naked into the icy wastes of the sea, please send a cheque made payable to Drum Adventure marked Adult ‘A’ Team Fund on the reverse.

I thank you in anticipation,

Archie Waters, Project Leader.
